Shout with a full voice our God is near. Those who hope in the Lord find their strength renewed. They fly like an eagle like an eagle they soar.
It isn´t Advent yet but this hopeful, joyous tune keeps coming to mind as we see the mountains ahead and start the ascent. Trusting God is the theme on our hearts. Some of you may know our daughter Sarah fell and hit her head Sunday evening causing her to have two subdermal hematomas. She was admitted to the ICU at St. Peter´s for observation because she was also sick to her stomach. She underwent many tests and our daughter Elizabeth came from Buffalo to advocate and oversee her care while Hilarie provided moral support by phone.
It has challenged the parent in us to continue on the Camino and let God take care of our family. Depending on our children and extended family to lend a hand is not how we typically handle things. Trust is a necessary part of this journey as we go to places we have never been and walk when we are not sure the way. We sleep next to people we do not know and share all facilities with them. We are unaware of the weather forecast when we arise. We send one of our bags filled with all our belongings with total strangers each day and trust it will arrive at our next destination. We choose the destination without knowing if we will actually arrive there. “God willing¨ is a staple in our conversation when we meet other pilgrims and they ask where we plan to end our day, we say the name of the village, God willing.
We have walked 342 miles and have left 155 miles to Santiago. This journey challenges us to trust God more deeply and be dependent at a whole new level. Proverbs 3:5,6

Pilgrims' Potpourri 
God has indeed been your proverbial companion and rally leader. Just think that you have walked pathways and mountain trails previously unknown and here you are going past 342 miles of Camino with less than 155 miles to go. You walk the hallowed esoteric grounds of Biblical travelers of yore. As for your poor daughter, I can not denigrate the condition she is in but she is in good hands with your other daughters and hospital staff. Think of all the passages, N.T. as well as O.T., where God asks us to turn away from all we’ve left behind and follow Him. We are cheering you on back home. Feel that when a gentle breeze brushes your care worn face. God bless you on your way.

The desriptions of your journey has put us in the journey as if we were there. Pat and I truly appreciated the French snoring stories as we spend our weekend at the Carondiolet Center.
Your faith was so deep to begin and it seems to only have grown. You talk about the Christ in others and are so humble in yourselves being Christ to others. I picture Jesus on his journey and the faith he had in people when invited in to their homes along the way. Thank you so much for sharing and being part of our lives.

I have experienced being far away from a loved one in times of crisis and/or need (mine or theirs). It is a difficult place to be in, yet heartwarming to know that others fill in for us, be it family members, friends or strangers. May Sarah’s needs and yours be met at this time I will pray for you all.
I have journeyed with you tonight the days since Oct 25. It has been so hectic here and I embrace the days and graces that you are encountering on your pilgrimage. I have decided to have a pilgrimage in communion with you and journey with Macrina to embrace the whole of my life and give thanks for all of it. I also pray for Sarah. Marty could look in on her if she is still at St Peter’s. I will try to find out as he is on tomorrow. You are having a Hinds Feet on High Places journey and I thank you for sharing this with all of us. It is touching me deeply. God bless and lots of hugs in spirit. We are meeting Monday with our group and you will be especially in our hearts and prayers.
Ed and Karen, I am doing the over night vigil, I expect to be with Sarah. I have printed out the Pilgrims’ Potpourri and hope to read it to her. I did begin to read it Thursday she was very drousy and many interruptions. I am saddened to hear she was readmitted to the hospital, I know Jean did the right think she was not eating or drinking well at NS. I am glad she spoke with you on the phone that was just what you needed I am sure. I love reading about your journey it is very inspirational.
I hope Karen’s feet are healing, it is very hard to heal when you are walking every day. You are an inspiration to all of us. May God Bless you.
